Associate Director - Electrical

Job Description

AECOM's Middle East Rail team are currently seeking an A ssociate Director - Electrical Design with a portfolio of built work in metro's and rail to join our team in the Dubai office.

The Associate Director will be an advocate for design excellence within the office through an integrated and collaborative approach. The Design Leader consistently exhibits and demonstrates a commitment to AECOM’s core values – Collaboration, Creativity, Community, Integrity and the Environment.

Responsibilities:

• Excellent knowledge and experience of designing, reviewing electrical services design for metro/rail projects.
• Fully responsible for the technical delivery of large projects from bidding to delivery
• Acts as Bid manager for small to medium scale project and contribute to the development of the company by supporting senior management team.
• Knowledge of BIM Revit design, BIM 360, Navisworks and ProjectWise software.
• Good knowledge of AMTECH and Dialux software.
• Good knowledge of UAE and KSA and other GCC countries codes and international standards of electrical and fire alarm services design requirements.
• Fair knowledge of other engineering ( mechanical, PHE and fire protection) services and coordination.
• Identify, understand, follow relevant procedures, take actions, and guide senior engineers and develop and motivate the team as per AECOM corporate philosophy.
• Review, comment and approve design, shop and as build drawings, specification, material submission and other documents.
• Write the design proposals, basis of design report, specification and value engineering.
• Lead the design team (collocated and remote located) MEP design staff.
• Resource planning, utilization and Electrical services design, calculation and report writing.
• Communicate well with client/PMC and other stakeholders, lead the workshop/issue resolution meetings with them.
• Ensure the AECOM, QAQC procedures are followed in all stages of design and accuracy and quality is maintained throughout the design process and technical delivery within schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 15 years experience in transit / rail and metros
• Proven related professional experience in Engineering (MEP) Practice particularly with Rail assets
• Experience of working on large scale projects including site experience
