Job Purpose
The SEN Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering tailored lessons to pupils with Special Educational Needs supporting their academic social and emotional development. The role involves adapting teaching strategies preparing and reviewing IEPs/EHCPs monitoring progress and providing positive behavior support. The SEN Teacher works closely with the SENCo teaching assistants parents and external professionals to ensure pupils receive appropriate support in a safe inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet individual needs.
Adapt learning materials and teaching strategies to support pupil progress.
Prepare and review IEPs/EHCPs and monitor pupil development.
Assess progress and provide feedback to parents and school leaders.
Use positive behavior management strategies to support emotional and social development.
Work collaboratively with the SENCo teaching assistants parents and external professionals.
Ensure safeguarding procedures are always followed always.
