Executive Plant and Machinery

Designation: Plant & Machinery (P&M) Inspector- (Tower Crane / Hoist / Placing Boom / Cradle)

1. Job Summary:

The P&M Inspector is responsible for the physical inspection of the Mechanical hydraulic & Electromechanical components of tower cranes hoists placing booms and cradles used at high rise buildings on construction sites. The role ensures that all equipment is well maintained as per the OEM recommended preventive maintenance and complies with the safety standards as per the HSSE Policy of the company.

2. Job Description:

• Conduct routine technical inspections on tower crane /hoist/cradles/Placing boom equipment as per Planned inspection schedule.
• Carry out physical test on technical requirements to check the wear & tear of the components according to the age/commissioned dates of equipment. (i.e. Wire ropes/pulleys/rollers/mast sections/Joints & supports/pins/hydraulic jumping jacks/cables & guides. Etc.)
• Identify and report any unsafe conditions mechanical defects/faults or non-compliance which may cause serious accident hazard must be reported immediately to the P&M Manager -HSSE Audit for further action.
• Check & verify periodic maintenance is completed as per P&M scheduled and notify any deviation.
• Coordinate with front line P&M team for corrective action and preventive action.
• Inspect equipment installation load testing and commissioning are carried out as per procedures.
• Provide input for risk assessments and method statements (MSRA) on equipment operations according to various site conditions changes time to time.
• Provide inputs on the operator/rigger competency for further evaluation for training & Improvement.
• Participate in incident investigations involving related to equipment.
• As per requirements make presence during the third-party inspections and checks.
• Ensure the TPTs are executed as per the statuary requirements of the equipment.
• Checking the physical condition and outlook appearance of the equipment for any non-acceptance criteria.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections identified repairs and submit monthly report.

3. Qualification (UAE Requirements):

• Minimum Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electromechanical Engineering or related field. Degree in Engineering added advantage.
• TOWER CRANE ERECTION/DIMANTLING certificate from a recognized third-party agency
• Certification in Lifting Equipment Inspection (LEI) is an added advantage.

4. Experience:

• Minimum 710 years of relevant experience in inspection of tower cranes hoists and related equipment.
• Experience on large-scale construction high rise projects in the UAE or GCC an added advantage.
• Familiarity with safety regulations audit processes and inspection documentation

5. Age Limit:

• Preferred: 3050 years
• Exceptions may be made based on experience physical & Medical fitness criteria meets.

6. Reporting to : ManagerP&MHSSE(Audit & Inspection)
