The Editorial team provides our customers with premium differentiated visuals across news sports and entertainment that cover real people events actions and facts. We also grow and maintain one of the worlds most extensive archives of socially significant historical photos footage and prints.
Getty Images is hiring an Assignment Editor to join the Editorial Entertainment team in Dubai. Youre deeply immersed in the UAE entertainment ecosystem from celebrity culture and fashion to broadcast and influencer events. With your organizational finesse you excel in orchestrating complex coverage under tight timelines. Your passion for storytelling fluency in local dynamics and ability to lead high-energy teams make you a standout candidate.
Who You Are:
- A content-savvy self-starter who thrives in dynamic production-heavy environments.
- Passionate about fashion luxury entertainment and the vibrant media scene in the UAE and broader GCC region.
- Skilled at balancing multiple live events editorial shoots and breaking news stories.
- Capable of autonomously leading on-site teams (photographers videographers producers editors) at events with logistical precision.
- Strong team collaborator yet confident working independently.
- Comfortable with flexible schedules including out-of-hours commitments and travel as needed.
Your Next Challenge:
- Drive Entertainment Coverage Across the Gulf: Strategically manage and assign entertainment content stills and video in the UAE and neighboring markets.
- Plan & Execute Coverage: Produce and coordinate a roster of content creators for high-profile events -film premieres concerts festivals fashion weeks influencer activations award shows.
- Leverage Local Networks: Cultivate and nurture relationships with publicists agencies venue organizers media groups and entertainment clients to ensure seamless access and informed coverage.
- Campaign and Storyline Development: Bring creative flair to scheduling coverage that aligns with regional content trends - working with regional stakeholders to identify compelling narratives.
- Operational Leadership On-site: Lead the execution at events - from credentialing and logistics to managing crew flow and troubleshooting under pressure.
- Collaborate with Global Teams: Liaise effectively with editorial producers photo and video teams and senior editors across the Getty Images network to align local coverage strategies with global goals.
- Stay Ahead of Trends: Monitor and interpret regional entertainment movements and media behavior to optimize Gettys content relevance and resonance.
What Youll Need:
- Proven experience in entertainment content production within the UAE or GCC - managing editorial event or lifestyle coverage.
- Established relationships with key regional entertainment stakeholders - PRs agencies production houses celebrity managers venues media platforms.
- Demonstrable experience managing creatives (photographers videographers editors) and delivering content under tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and logistical management capabilities especially in fast-paced evolving settings.
- Comfort with flexible working arrangements and willingness to travel as required across the region.
- Fluent in Arabic and English with other regional language proficiency a plus.
This is a hybrid role that combines remote work with on-site presence at events.
