We are looking for an experienced Process Safety Designer to join our team in Abu Dhabi for a major onshore oil and gas project. The successful candidate will support the engineering team by developing and delivering high-quality process safety design drawings and documentation throughout the FEED and Detailed Engineering phases.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and develop process safety-related drawings and layouts including:
- Escape route layouts
- Fire & gas detection layouts
- Firewater system layouts
- Hazardous area classification drawings
- Safety equipment location plans
- Ensure designs are compliant with project specifications ADNOC standards and relevant international codes.
- Support engineers by translating technical process safety input into design deliverables.
- Coordinate and collaborate with process piping mechanical and other engineering disciplines.
- Incorporate findings from safety studies (e.g. HAZOP HAZID SIL FERA EERA) into design drawings.
- Revise and update drawings based on engineering reviews client comments and internal markups.
- Maintain drawing quality clarity and consistency throughout the project phases.
- Support deliverable tracking and document control processes.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in Engineering Design or Drafting.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in drafting/design for process safety within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong experience in FEED Detailed Design and Detailed Engineering for onshore oil and gas projects.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other drafting/design software.
- Familiar with ADNOC and international standards (e.g. NFPA IEC API).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
