About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Operations Engineer to lead the execution of HVAC modernization projects across the this role you will drive end-to-end project deliveryfrom kickoff and detailed planning through commissioning and final handover. You will provide strong technical oversight on HVAC upgrades including AHUs FCUs chillers and BMS integrations ensuring seamless execution and compliance with Carrier guidelines local codes and client requirements.

This position is ideal for an engineer with hands-on project leadership experience strong technical depth and a passion for delivering quality results within timeline and budget targets.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

• Lead HVAC modernization projects from kickoff through commissioning and handover.

• Develop detailed execution plans schedules and resource plans.

• Coordinate with clients consultants OSLs and internal teams to align project milestones.

• Monitor project progress resolve bottlenecks and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.

• Oversee material delivery site readiness and mobilization of contractors.

Technical Oversight & Engineering

• Review and approve technical documents including method statements shop drawings and control schematics.

• Provide expert guidance on HVAC system upgrades and component replacements (AHUs FCUs chillers) and BMS integrations.

• Ensure compliance with local codes Carrier specifications and client standards.

• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for system malfunctions or installation issues.

Team & Contractor Supervision

• Direct and manage on-site activities of OSLs (On-Site Labor) and Carrier field technicians.

• Ensure proper installation practices safety protocols and workmanship quality.

• Conduct toolbox talks daily briefings and technical mentoring for junior staff.

• Coordinate inspections testing and commissioning with third-party agencies and clients.

Compliance & Reporting

• Enforce Carriers EHS (Environment Health & Safety) standards and ensure zero unsafe practices.

• Maintain project documentation including daily site reports progress trackers and commissioning logs.

• Escalate delays risks or technical deviations with proposed corrective actions.

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the development of standardized work processes checklists and templates.

• Support the evaluation and onboarding of OSLs based on field performance and compliance.

Requirements

We are looking for people who have as a minimum:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

• 36 years of experience in HVAC project engineering or management with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

• Experience in leading cross-functional teams.

• Strong technical expertise in HVAC systems and controls.

• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.

• Strong problem-solving decision-making risk handling and communication skills.

• Project management certifications (e.g. PMP LEED) are an advantage.
