The Mechanical Quantity Surveyor is responsible for all quantity commercial and cost-control functions related to mechanical works for a major ADNOC construction project. This includes piping tanks mechanical equipment static/dynamic equipment installation and associated industrial systems. The role requires strong familiarity with ADNOC contractual procedures measurement standards and EPC project documentation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs for mechanical works: Piping (CS SS GRE RTR HDPE) Mechanical equipment installation Tanks vessels skids and package units Valves supports spools and prefabricated assemblies
- Verify quantities against IFC drawings isometrics P&IDs MTOs and site installations.
- Track and maintain quantity logs measurement sheets and client verification records as per ADNOC requirements.
- Prepare monthly payment applications (client & subcontractor) as per approved ADNOC formats.
- Support preparation of cost forecasts CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) and budget updates.
- Monitor consumption of materials installed quantities and productivity to identify changes and potential overruns.
- Review subcontractor invoices measurement sheets and provide certification recommendations.
- Support Commercial/Contracts team in:
- Preparing variation claims (VOs) with detailed quantity build-ups and justifications.
- Evaluating subcontractor claims and preparing back-charge submissions.
- Preparing contractual correspondence and contractual notifications.
- Ensure all documentation complies with ADNOC contract requirements and audit standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify installation progress and validate executed quantities.
- Coordinate closely with mechanical construction teams engineering procurement and subcontractors.
- Ensure alignment of mechanical progress with the project controls and planning teams.
- Prepare weekly/monthly mechanical quantity and cost reports for internal and client submission.
- Highlight trends deviations and commercial risks to project leadership.
- Maintain meticulous records of RFIs NCRs field change requests and as-built updates affecting quantities.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- 7-12 years of relevant QS experience in Oil & Gas mechanical construction.
- Strong knowledge of piping tanks mechanical equipment installation and industrial systems.
- Experience working on ADNOC Onshore/Offshore projects (ADNOC approval preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Excel AutoCAD/2D review tools and QS documentation.
- Previous or valid ADNOC Approval as Mechanical QS. (PREFERRED)
- CICPA security pass or eligible to obtain one. (PREFERRED)
- Experience with EPC lump-sum and re-measurement contracts. (PREFERRED)
- Familiarity with ADNOC measurement procedures and cost control systems. (PREFERRED)
