Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Planning Engineer to spearhead project scheduling and control functions for large-scale construction or oil & gas projects in the Middle East. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in planning and project controls with the ability to guide a team interface with stakeholders and drive project success through meticulous planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop maintain and monitor comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent tools.
Prepare baseline schedules look-ahead plans progress measurement systems and recovery plans.
Lead project planning meetings and coordinate with engineering procurement and construction teams.
Conduct critical path analysis delay analysis and resource/cost loading assessments.
Generate weekly and monthly progress reports and dashboards for management and client stakeholders.
Identify schedule variances trends and deviations; propose mitigation and recovery strategies.
Manage project change requests and assess time impact analysis for variation orders.
Ensure alignment between project schedules and cost control budgets.
Maintain an interface with clients consultants and subcontractors regarding project status and schedule risks.
Lead and mentor junior planners and ensure adherence to planning standards and procedures.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor s Degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical or equivalent)
Master s Degree in Project Management is desirable
PMP certification is preferred
Minimum 7 years of experience in the Middle East as a Planning Engineer in the Construction or Oil & Gas sector
Key Skills and Competencies:
Expertise in Primavera P6 MS Project and MS Office Suite
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM)
Proficiency in delay analysis techniques and forensic scheduling
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask prioritise and work under pressure in a dynamic environment
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
