Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client s project team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the costs and contracts associated with construction projects ensuring value for money while maintaining high-quality standards. The role requires strong analytical skills contractual knowledge and expertise in budgeting and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare cost estimates budgets and bills of quantities for construction projects.
Analyze project drawings specifications and other documents to prepare accurate quantity take-offs.
Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Monitor project costs during execution and identify variances from the budget.
Conduct value engineering and cost-benefit analysis.
Manage change orders and variations and provide cost impact assessments.
Prepare interim and final payment applications and assist in resolving payment disputes.
Maintain updated cost reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Assist with tendering processes and procurement of materials/services.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations industry standards and legal regulations.
Essential Qualifications:
Key Skills Required:
Proficient in cost estimation budgeting and cost control techniques.
Strong knowledge of construction methods materials and legal regulations.
Familiarity with standard forms of contracts (e.g. FIDIC JCT etc.).
Expertise in MS Excel AutoCAD and quantity surveying software (e.g. CostX Cubit etc.).
Strong analytical negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication report-writing and interpersonal skills.
