OPERATION MAINTENANCE

Core responsibilities

• Perform maintenance: Conduct scheduled inspections, both preventive and corrective, on machinery, equipment, and building systems (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
• Troubleshoot and repair: Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, or other system malfunctions to restore operations quickly.
• Ensure compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
• Manage inventory and budgets: Track and manage spare parts inventory and control the budget for maintenance activities and projects.
• Document work: Keep detailed records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs, often using a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).

Specific roles and their focus

• Technician: Focuses on hands-on tasks, such as lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs, and may be on-call for emergency situations.
• Engineer: Develops maintenance strategies, analyzes system performance, and may oversee complex projects.
• Manager: Oversees the maintenance team, manages budgets, plans projects, coordinates with contractors, and develops policies and procedures.

Essential skills and qualifications

• Proficiency with maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment (e.g., multimeters, pressure gauges)
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents like engineering drawings and SOPs
• Strong problem-solving skills to handle unexpected issues
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations
• Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and other departments
• Relevant technical certifications or experience in a mechanical or electrical field
