Role Purpose
Lead all mechanical piping and structural engineering activities for the IA/PA Upgrade Project.
The engineer ensures complete design integration technical compliance and constructability across multiple platforms coordinating with Engineering Subcontractor Vendors / OEMs and ADNOC Offshore teams from concept to installation.
Key Responsibilities (Project Specific)
Mechanical Engineering
- Review design and vendor data for compressor packages air dryers receivers and auxiliary skids.
- Verify mechanical interfaces utility connections alignment and foundation requirements.
- Evaluate package GAs datasheets and P&IDs to ensure consistency with process requirements.
- Check lifting handling and transport arrangements in accordance with ADNOC Offshore rules.
- Coordinate FAT / SAT activities with OEMs (Compressor Dryer & Receiver suppliers).
Piping Design & Layout
- Lead routing of IA and PA headers within existing deck space
- Develop tie-in strategies to existing headers with minimum shutdown and production impact.
- Review isometrics support layouts valve lists and material specifications.
- Review stress analysis and ensure adequate flexibility and supports.
- Coordinate with Process and Electrical teams for interface locations and routing constraints.
Structural Engineering & Deck Integration
- Assess existing deck capacity for new equipment installation.
- Conduct structural analysis / strength checks for compressor and receiver foundations.
- Design steel supports pipe racks platform extensions (if any) and equipment frames.
- Review lifting plans deck load maps and erection schemes to ensure safety and stability.
- Coordinate with ADNOC Offshore Civil/Structural for approval of load changes and lifting arrangements.
Coordination with Engineering Subcontractor
- Act as the primary focal point for all mechanical piping and structural deliverables.
- Review and approve subcontractor drawings models and calculations.
- Ensure timely submission of Section 6 deliverables and compliance with ADNOC Offshore standards.
- Conduct inter-discipline reviews to resolve layout and interface issues early.
Vendor / OEM Coordination (High Priority)
- Liaise with OEMs for compressor packages dryers receivers and skid suppliers.
- Review vendor data for mechanical loads nozzle orientation pipe size and instrument interface.
- Ensure vendor equipment fits within available space and connects to existing utilities.
- Participate in FAT / SAT and resolve technical queries during manufacture and installation.
Construction & Installation Support
- Prepare and review method statements for equipment installation piping tie-ins and lifting.
- Support construction team for site measurements and as-built verification.
- Attend offshore site visits to resolve interface and installation issues.
- Verify alignment fit-up and erection tolerances during installation.
- Ensure PTW and SIMOPS procedures are followed for brownfield works.
Interface & Integration Management
- Coordinate with Process Electrical and I&C engineers for equipment interfaces and tie-ins.
- Maintain mechanical interface register and ensure alignment with ADNOC Offshore projects (LTDP-1 Load Migration).
- Support interface meetings with ADNOC and resolve clashes proactively.
Key Deliverables
- Mechanical / Piping / Structural drawings and layouts.
- Equipment foundation and support designs.
- Piping tie-in layouts and isometrics.
- Structural load check reports and lifting plans.
- Vendor data review and approval records.
- Installation method statements and as-built documentation.
- Interface register updates and meeting minutes.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- ADNOC Offshore approval or eligible for approval.
- Certification in ASME / API / AWS standards (preferred).
- PMP / construction management training (advantage).
