The Commissioning Supervisor is responsible for executing all activities related to the pre-commissioning and commissioning of a complete plant unit. The role ensures that all operations are carried out in full compliance with quality standards HSE regulations and project procedures.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop detailed pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures in line with project requirements and under the guidance of the Commissioning Manager or Commissioning Superintendent.
- Perform field verification of DAC (Discipline Acceptance Certificates) and prepare related commissioning punch lists as per the instructions of the Commissioning Manager.
- Ensure the proper execution of all pre-commissioning activities such as:
- Flushing and blowing
- Reinstatement of piping components and local instruments
- Leak testing
- Motor and machinery run-in
- Static equipment inspection and cleaning
- Installation of internals and box-up operations
- Oversee and manage the field operations of assigned subcontractor teams ensuring adherence to project safety procedures and immediate response in case of emergencies.
- Coordinate and support vendor specialists during their site activities ensuring their work is integrated effectively with ongoing commissioning operations.
- Supervise the work of vendor representatives to ensure efficient utilization and proper execution of tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of all activities performed including updates to the commissioning logbook.
- Prepare and issue all necessary certificates related to commissioning activities ensuring they are properly signed and submitted to the QA/QC Certification Engineer.
- Act as the authorized person (when designated by the Site Manager) to issue or receive Permits to Work in accordance with the projects Permit to Work Procedure.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Electrical Instrumentation or Chemical Engineering (as applicable).
- Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning within the oil & gas petrochemical or power plant sectors.
- Strong knowledge of commissioning methodologies plant systems and equipment operation.
- Familiarity with HSE standards quality requirements and international commissioning practices.
- Excellent communication leadership and team coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.
