Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee our transportation operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fleet management with a focus on safety efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This is a key leadership role within our organization responsible for managing a large fleet of vehicles and ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of goods and services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- - Develop and implement fleet management strategies and policies to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our vehicles.
- - Monitor and analyze fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- - Oversee the maintenance and repair of all company vehicles ensuring they are in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- - Manage and maintain accurate records of fleet inventory including vehicle specifications maintenance schedules and fuel consumption.
- - Plan and coordinate vehicle routes to optimize delivery times and reduce costs.
- - Ensure compliance with all transportation laws and regulations including vehicle registration insurance and driver qualifications.
- - Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of vehicle parts and services.
- - Manage a team of drivers and other fleet personnel providing training coaching and performance evaluations.
- - Prepare and manage the fleet budget monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in vehicle technology to improve fleet operations.
Qualifications:
- - Bachelors degree in transportation management logistics or a related field.
- - Minimum of 15 years of experience in fleet management preferably in the transportation industry.
- - Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance repair and safety standards.
- - Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- - Proficient in using fleet management software and Microsoft Office.
- - Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions.
- - Knowledge of local transportation laws and regulations.
- - Valid drivers license.
