Consultant Neuro-Interventional Radiology
Job Role
Managerial Task:
- Supports implements and follows all hospital departmental and divisional initiatives policies and procedures
- Helps lead and implement the organizations performance management system including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes
- Participates in the organizations performance management system including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes
- Assists with scheduling and supports the Division Chief in ensuring that adequate medical coverage is provided within the Division at all times
- Attends Divisional meetings as required
- Assists the Division Chief in the recruitment of new medical staff when appropriate
- Assumes other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Division Chief
Technical Task:
- Diagnoses and treats patients according to established standards of best practice for the post holders specialty. The Consultant Physicians clinical duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Oversees the clinical activities of the junior medical staff and is assumes responsibility for the care they provide
- Complies with all established hospital polices regarding admissions consultations daily patient care surgical procedures discharge protocols outpatient and follow up practices
- Practices appropriate utilization of the organizations resources
- Leads ward round; reassesses both inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis in line with established best practice
- Accurately documents all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with established procedures
- Regularly reviews results of all investigations and modifies treatment as required
- Liaises with other medical specialties and support services for additional input as required
- Actively participates in multi-disciplinary meetings to help plan effective safe and holistic care for individual patients
- Ensures preparation of patients for all procedures including obtaining informed consent
- Accepts clinically appropriate referrals from the Emergency Department primary care other departments specialty clinics walk in patients and patients referred from other hospitals
Requirements
Qualifications
- Qualification from Tier 1
- Current national license or equivalent
- Certified proof of yearly CME
Additional Qualifications:
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) and specialization in Neurointerventional Radiology
- American Board CCT UK Australian Board any Western Board Fellowship or additional certification in Neurointerventional Radiology
- Minimum of 5 years of post-specialization experience in Neurointerventional Radiology
- Valid DOH (Department of Health - Abu Dhabi) License or eligibility.
- Experience working within JCI-accredited hospitals is preferred.
