CIVIL INSPECTOR

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the job of Civil Inspector is to ensure that construction activities are executed in compliance with approved designs specifications quality standards and local regulations. By leveraging their expertise they act as a critical link between the design and construction phases ensuring the successful delivery of projects while maintaining quality safety and efficiency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct onsite inspections of civil works to ensure compliance with project specifications design drawings and applicable standards.
• Verify materials and construction methods against approved specifications.
• Monitor construction activities including earthworks concrete works structural works and finishing to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
• Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports including photographic evidence documenting site progress and issues identified.
• Coordinate with contractors consultants and project managers to address noncompliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure that all site activities are carried out in accordance with local regulations health and safety standards and environmental guidelines.
• Assist in reviewing and approving method statements inspection and test plans (ITPs) and material submittals.
• Participate in progress meetings to provide updates on inspection findings and quality issues.
• Verify and ensure proper implementation of design changes and variations onsite.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma or Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Civil Inspector preferably in the UAE.
• Previous experience working with design consulting companies is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles materials and construction methods.
• Familiarity with UAE regulations local authority standards and international codes.
• Excellent attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with contractors and consultants.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with relevant inspection software or tools is an advantage.
