Job Summary: The florist is responsible for creating floral arrangements managing inventory assisting customers and maintaining the overall appearance of the shop. They play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction through highquality floral designs and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Floral Design and Arrangement: Create and design floral arrangements for various occasions such as weddings funerals holidays and everyday use.
Utilize knowledge of different flowers foliage and their seasonal availability to create appropriate arrangements.
Customize arrangements based on customer specifications and preferences.
Customer Service:
Greet and assist customers in selecting flowers plants and other related products.
Provide advice and suggestions to customers regarding flower care arrangement and suitable selections for specific occasions.
Handle customer inquiries complaints and special requests in a professional manner.
Sales and Transactions: Process sales transactions using the shops point of sale (POS) system.
Manage cash register and handle money accurately.
Upsell additional products such as vases greeting cards and other gift items.
Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of flowers plants and supplies; place orders with suppliers as needed.
Inspect flower deliveries for quality and freshness; properly store and condition flowers to maintain their longevity.
Keep track of inventory and report any shortages or issues to the shop manager.
Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean organized and visually appealing shop environment.
Ensure floral displays are fresh attractive and replenished regularly.
Clean work areas tools and equipment after use to maintain hygiene and efficiency.
Event Coordination: Assist with the planning and execution of floral arrangements for events and special occasions.
Collaborate with event planners customers and other stakeholders to ensure floral needs are met.
Requirements
Preferred: Certification in floral design or related field.
Previous experience in a retail environment.
