PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Electrical Designer to join our dynamic team focused on Offshore Oil & Gas EPC projects. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in electrical design drafting and coordination within the context of offshore platforms and facilities. This role requires proficiency in industry standards regulatory requirements and project execution practices specific to the Oil & Gas sector.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop detailed electrical design drawings specifications and technical documentation for offshore platforms and associated facilities.
- Collaborate closely with engineers project managers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of electrical designs with project requirements and standards.
- Perform electrical calculations such as load analysis voltage drop and cable sizing.
- Review and interpret project specifications client requirements and applicable codes and standards (e.g. NEC IEC API NEMA).
- Conduct design reviews and participate in interdisciplinary meetings to coordinate electrical design activities with other disciplines.
- Support procurement activities by preparing technical specifications and evaluating vendor proposals.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and drafters.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design within the Oil & Gas industry with a focus on offshore projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD MicroStation or similar design software.
- Familiarity with electrical design software such as ETAP or SKM PowerTools.
- Strong knowledge of offshore electrical systems including power distribution lighting grounding and hazardous area classifications.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing technical drawings diagrams and schematics.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g. NEC IECEx API IEEE).
