PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
We are seeking a skilled Structural Designer to join our team specializing in Offshore Projects within the Oil & Gas industry. The Structural Designer will be responsible for the design and analysis of structural components and systems for offshore platforms and related facilities ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop detailed structural designs calculations and drawings for offshore platforms including topsides jackets and subsea structures.
- Collaborate closely with engineers architects and other stakeholders to ensure structural designs meet project requirements and standards.
- Perform structural analysis using software tools such as STAAD.Pro SACS or similar considering environmental loads seismic factors and dynamic effects.
- Review and interpret project specifications client requirements and relevant codes and standards (e.g. API RP 2A AISC Eurocodes).
- Participate in design reviews and interdisciplinary meetings to coordinate structural design activities with other disciplines.
- Prepare technical specifications reports and documentation for structural materials and construction methods.
- Support procurement activities by providing technical input for material selection and vendor evaluation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and drafters.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Structural Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design within the Oil & Gas industry preferably focused on offshore projects.
- Proficiency in structural design software such as STAAD.Pro SACS or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of offshore structural systems including steel and concrete design offshore installation methods and foundation design.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing structural calculations drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards relevant to offshore structural engineering (e.g. API RP 2A AISC Eurocodes).
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
