Position Summary

The objectives and goals the swimming coach establishes should reflect the needs of the swimmers the needs of the team and the needs of the program.

The coach will have many specific objectives but each could probably be grouped into four major categories:

To provide personal and social development for lifetime skills.

To develop and improve the technical and physical skills of swimming.

To provide a fun and enjoyable environment.

To orient young people to assist achieving their goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

Swim coaching for daily swimming lessons / group classes

Coach for swim camps if and when requested to do so including swimming development and promotion

Ensure sufficient time is spent planning and preparing for swimming sessions at the appropriate swimming level

Identify participants swimming abilities

Advertising for all Advantage Sports Services swim programs

Ensure safety standards are followed in all sessions

Ensure that lifesaving equipment is in working order

Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques to students

Set ground rules before each session

Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance

Evaluate sessions and give feedback after each session to the respective parents / students

Working a minimum of 6 days per week (56 Hours Per Day)

Assist with creating the top Swimming Development Program within Abu Dhabi.

Ensure all swimming sessions are taught by Advantage is of the highest calibre at all times.

Assist assembling a complete swimming program offering private lessons group lessons and swim camps for all standards and also adapt other ideas.

Promote Advantage Sports sponsorship brands.

To be a point of contact between clients and the Managing Director and assist if and when necessary.

To assist in locating and setting up new projects.

Increase revenue for the swimming division of Advantage Sports Services.

Help liaise with swim authorities to improve swim programs and standards in the UAE.

Assist in swimming promotions clinics open days without hesitation.

Personal Specifications

Interest and ability in swimming

Good spoken English communication skills

The ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers

Perseverance and patience is extremely important

The ability to encourage people and put them at ease

Qualification/s from an internationally recognised training school (as applicable to your role) in one or more of the following: Learn to Swim Infant Aquatics Stroke Development and Aqua Tone.
