As a Wheelchair Assistant you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals who require assistance with mobility. Requirements
- Mobility Assistance: Help clients move safely using wheelchairs including transferring between wheelchair and bed chair or other surfaces.
- Daily Living Support: Assist clients with daily activities such as dressing grooming eating and personal hygiene as needed.
- Safety Monitoring: Ensure the safety of clients by monitoring their environment preventing falls and adhering to safety protocols.
- Transportation: Provide transportation support for clients to appointments errands and social activities as required.
- Communication: Maintain clear and compassionate communication with clients their families and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Documentation: Accurately record and report any changes in clients conditions incidents or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Environment Maintenance: Help maintain a clean and organized environment for clients including their living spaces and assistive equipment.
- Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and companionship to clients fostering a positive and respectful relationship.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a caregiving role particularly with individuals who use wheelchairs is preferred.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in caregiving first aid or CPR are advantageous.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle physical tasks including lifting and transferring clients safely
- Patience empathy and a genuine desire to help others
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work various shifts including evenings weekends and holidays as needed.
