Job Overview
The Coordinator is responsible for maintaining administrative, scheduling, and patient access responsibilities for the department. The Coordinator manages the clinical and patient scheduling of appointments and procedures. Obtains pre-certifications and verifies insurance for patients. Communicates to patient and clinical staff in a professional and courteous manner via phone, email, in-person, etc. Assists the clinical staff in administrative functions.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years in a healthcare setting

- Day Shift
- Rotating weekend and holiday schedule
- Full-Time
Essential Functions
- Greets and welcomes patients as they arrive at the imaging center
- Conducts patient intake by checking IDs, ensures patient safety, and takes a medical history verbally, via medical chart and assessment of patient
- Determines and accommodates patient s age-based care needs and provides appropriate age-based patient/family education related to procedure
- Schedules appointments and manages the appointment calendar
- Answers phone calls and responds to patient inquiries
- Processes and verifies insurance information
- Maintains patient records and ensures they are accurate and up to date
- Assists with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Communicates with all members of the health care team, patients, and families
- Utilizes therapeutic communication skills with patients and family members
- Reports data collected and observed to RN immediately
- Observes patient confidentiality
- Completes special projects of the Director or other department supervisors/managers in a professional manner
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
