Crane Operator

What You Will Do In Your Role

• Safe and efficient operator of Log Yard Cranes on a rail system
• Unload log trucks safely and without damage to equipment
• Keep log supply to mill consistent with production needs
• Stack in a neat and orderly fashion to maximize storage and minimize losses
• Ensure proper rotation of logs in storage area
• Complete daily inspections and checklists
• Maintain a clean and orderly workplace
• Operate equipment in a way that is safe, productive and minimizes breakdowns
• Work with maintenance on the portal crane to maximize uptime and operational efficiency
• Expected to come out of the crane into the mill to help if situations arise
  
  

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• One year of experience or more working in a manufacturing, military, or industrial environment
• Experience working with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring and testing instruments
• Experience working with computers for record keeping and documentation functions
  
  

What Will Put You Ahead

• Two years of experience or more operating a crane in a lumber or wood products environment
• Experience performing preventative maintenance schedules (PMS) in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Experience operating production equipment or large industrial equipment
