As a Takeoff Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing construction plans and specifications to create accurate and detailed takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment required for a project. You will work closely with the project management team to ensure that estimates are completed on time and within budget.

- Communicating with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints
- Reviewing and verifying takeoffs to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Identifying and documenting any assumptions or uncertainties that may impact the estimate
- Keeping up-to-date with current construction materials, methods, and pricing trends
- Effectively communicate with property owners/managers/tenants/GC subcontractors and
- insurance adjusters
- Work with GC and bids to evaluate and document material and services take off on specified products
- Effective system utilization and expertise for take off software, hands on experience on OCR or other take off software is a must
- Ensures all project documentation is accurate and uploaded into internal and external
- claims systems. Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance
- standards and specifications
- Assists project with GC communication and interactions
- Address questions/concerns throughout the project
- Responsible to track project changes and produces updated schedules
- Review project information and compile schedules in a timely manner
- Tracks the progress of all new and ongoing projects and maintains up-to-date notes
- Coordinate mitigation/restoration work with in-house staff and sub-trades
- Prepare and/or edit internal scopes of work, estimates, budgets, letters, faxes, memos and
- emails
- File all project documents appropriately (hard and soft copies)
- Organize, compile and submit support documentation on completion of project
- Submit any required information to the client as directed by the Project Manager
- Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices;
- follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other estimation tools
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working in the construction industry, preferably in a similar role
