Key responsibilities: -
• NOC monitoring and support the operations of Advanced ISP network.
• Provisioning (IP assignment, core network configuration, configuring col-location equipment’s for customers, monitoring and graphing for colocation, customer backup and other customer network services).
• Work with Telecommunication Service Providers to resolve escalated circuit problems for resolution.
• In-depth knowledge of IPv4 /v6 implementation on ISP network.
• Good understanding of NOC NMS implementations (listed under Network Monitoring Systems section below) and its operations.
• Troubleshooting of all network/firewall Incident reported by Service Desk as well as working on Service requests.
In depth troubleshooting skills for ISP protocols. BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS etc.
• Good understanding on SDH, DWDM Platform and related service provisioning.
• Provide escalation support and assistance to Global Change Operations teams.
• Problem escalation, network management reports and trend analysis.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the network environment to ensure the highest possible availability, security, and performance of the network.
• Identifying and creating governance processes for capacity management, aligning with company standards.
• Analyze the change management requests and providing the necessary feedback before getting approval.
• Change management preparation and deployment.
• Coordinate with multiple teams and implement the software/hardware changes in the network.
• Interact with multiple teams to identify root cause of issues and provide ETR/RFO.
• Work with other internal support teams to deliver service to customers.
• A broad understanding of Infrastructure maintenance and support is required along with an excellent understanding of the importance of process for change control, incident handling and fault management.
• Server builds and installs, application upgrades, network equipment build and installation. Maintaining hardware serial audits, writing custom monitoring plugins and configuring bespoke graphing.
• Maintaining technical documentation (for NOC) of processes and procedures used throughout normal operations.
• Understanding of Submarine cable operations and maintenance.
• Documentation of all network devices and network activities must be done and updated on a regular basis.
Educational Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Experience: -
• 5-8 years’ experience in the telecom field or similar.
Industrial Certifications:
• CCIE SP / R&S Preferred / (At least 5-8 years’ Service provider experience with CCNP)
Special Skills needed:
• 24x7 shift Rotation.
• Good communicator in English with a natural aptitude for dealing with people.
• Strong analytical skills and able to collate and interpret data from various sources.
• Ability to assess and prioritize faults and respond or escalate accordingly.
• Ability to review vulnerability reports and translate them into actionable tasks.
• Third party management skills.
• Good understanding of Regulatory Authorities processes and procedures.
• Good time management skills and ability to prioritize business impacting issues.
• A good understanding of cyber security, ISO Standards, and associated accreditation frameworks.
• Good understanding on facilities maintenance (monitoring and management of air-conditioning, UPS, generators, power usage, installing racks, setting up power, installing Ethernet, fibre and console cabling, power and KVM).
• Good understanding of Cisco IP Telephony.
• RIPE and related LIR processes.
• Basic Linux CLI skills.
• Basic understanding of NOC Power system and implementations.
• Project management skills.
