What you will be doing:
Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting and reporting functions, along with other support departments such as HR, payroll, IT and admin
Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results, including but not limited to project accounting and accounting for joint ventures
Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annually)
Coordinating activities of external auditors
Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
Managing the budget and planning process
Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
Working with complex Payroll
Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff (current team of 8 and growing)
Solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills Be able to demonstrate knowledge of International ASPE At least five years of relevant experience in Engineering/Construction/Project accounting is highly valued Bachelor s degree in accounting or finance with a preference for a professional accounting designation (CPA)
