August 2024 Start The school is a bilingual IB World School situated in Muscat Oman serving the local Omani community as well as the bilingual expatriate community. The school was established in 1993 under the ownership of the Royal Office and Royal Oman Police Pension Funds on land donated by the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to provide high quality international education whilst embracing traditional values based on the foundations of Omans cultural heritage.
The school is authorised to offer all three International Baccalaureate (IB) programs and the quality of its provision has been recognized with accreditation from the Council for International Schools (CIS).
We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Grade 1 Teacher to become an integral part of our esteemed institution in Oman. This role presents a rewarding opportunity to shape the educational experiences of our youngest learners fostering a nurturing and engaging environment that lays the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classroom Leadership:
- Cultivate a warm and inviting classroom atmosphere that encourages positive student interactions and supports the socialemotional development of Grade 1 students.
- Serve as a mentor and guide instilling a sense of curiosity respect and enthusiasm for learning.
- Curriculum Implementation:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive and ageappropriate curriculum aligned with educational standards for Grade 1 students.
- Create and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles incorporating handson activities and interactive methods.
- Individualized Learning:
- Recognize and address the unique learning needs of Grade 1 students providing differentiated instruction to accommodate various learning abilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
- Conduct regular assessments to gauge student progress and understanding of curriculum objectives.
- Provide constructive and timely feedback to students and parents fostering a collaborative approach to academic growth.
- Parental Engagement:
- Establish and maintain open communication with parents keeping them informed about their childs academic achievements challenges and overall wellbeing.
- Organize and participate in parentteacher conferences to discuss individual student progress and development.
- Classroom Management:
- Implement effective classroom management strategies that create a positive structured and supportive learning environment.
- Foster a sense of community within the classroom where students feel safe respected and encouraged to express themselves.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Education or a related field.
- Teaching certification for Grade 1 or Early Childhood Education.
- Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience preferably in a primary school setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passion for early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a love for learning.
