- Demonstrate a high level of expertise in overall knowledge and concept of sterilization and decontamination.
- Managing the day to day activities of the department to achieve service delivery goals while effectively managing resources.
- Preparing Plan SLA and Monthly Operating Report for CSSD.
- Assuming fiscal responsibilities, to include preparation and monitoring of operating and capital budget Developing & implementing quality standards in keeping up with current changes in practice standards with reference to such as, Maintaining CSSD records and statistics and status of task reports.
- Monitoring the departments’ quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control programs.
- Providing information, advice and guidance to the Preoperative Services on unit issues and operations as required.
- Maintaining and developing training programs for Sterile Service Assistants / Technicians. Processes are in place to assess levels of competence to practice.
- Monitoring Sterile Service Staff in achieving knowledge and competence.
- Acting as a resource person to staff and clients.
- Discuss changes with Theatre, Team Leaders and staff.
- Implementing the process that brings about effective change.
- Monitoring CSSD activities including resources usage, demand, supply to ensure efficient processing and supply of all sterile products with budgeted costs.
- Proactive in identifying and minimizing risk affecting CSSD practice.
- Displays commitment through actively supporting all health and safety initiatives.
- Accountable for overseeing CSSD workflow processes to ensure a quality service.
- Accountable for direct supervision, guidance, support and participation in work flows to assist with the processing of equipment and instruments.
