Our client is a leading, Top 15 firm of Accountants and Business Advisors based in Maidstone, with Offices across Kent. They have seen excellent growth in recent years. They offer a holistic accountancy practice service for their clients and internally prioritise their staffs development, progression and remuneration. As an Assistant Accountant you will be exposed to varied industries and sectors encompassing a wide range of corporates, listed businesses, OMBs and SMEs through to not for profit, charity and other niche, specialist sector clients, providing statutory accounting, bookkeeping, management accounting and tax services.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Preparation of financial statements for SME s, FRS102
- Basic preparation of Corporation Tax computations.
- Ad-hoc bookkeeping duties for our accounts clients using software such as Xero, Sage, Quickbooks or our client s software as applicable.
- Preparation of periodical management accounts for our accounts clients and reporting in their required format.
- Client VAT Return preparation.
- Adhering to deadlines or at least notifying the client and Manager where problems are likely to arise.
- Take responsibility for your work and must be able to multi task in an organised manner.
- Helping others within the department and acting as a team player.
Requirements
The successful candidate will be AAT qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience and have previously worked within an Accountancy practice.You will have a minimum of 1 years experience within an accountancy practice environment.
