As the business expands, we are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to be part of Qatar Airways Cargo’s Operations Team in Doha as a Cargo Sanctions and Crisis Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, management and continuous improvement of emergency response, global sanctions, customs and regulatory penalties program and associated processes and procedures within QR Cargo globally. You will also be responsible for the analysis of irregularities, investigation and risk assessments of live animals and support all cargo business functions regarding the scope of work, cargo booking system, QR systems and interface with cargo, documentation, procedures and training. As part of your role, your additional responsibilities will include the following: • Engineer processes to implement strategic decisions of senior management through partnership with the relevant stakeholders to transform and improve the global cargo compliance and achieve desired results. • Lead the development, execution and oversight of an effective Compliance Monitoring Program to ensure continued enhanced performance. • Provide direction and manage QR Cargo Operations and QR Cargo Doha related environmental initiatives in partnership with Aero-political and Corporate Affairs and other relevant stakeholders to ensure sustainability and meet environmental targets. • Provide leadership and guidance as well as develop and implement a training plan and program for all your staff, including the 24x7 Duty Controllers working within the Cargo Operations Support Centre with regards to global sanctions, live animals, regulatory penalties in partnership with the Cargo Operations Control Manager and Talent Development to ensure efficient day-to-day operation. • Develop and maintain an emergency response plan and a business continuity plan for the Cargo department globally in coordination with the Qatar Airways Group Crisis Management and Business Continuity department. • Develop and implement a training program, regular exercises to rehearse the emergency response plan and business continuity plan to ensure all Cargo staff are familiar with the documentation and procedures to ensure effective application in case of an aircraft serious incident, emergency or crisis situation. Qualifications About you • Minimum bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) with at least 6 years of job-related experience within the airfreight / air cargo environment • Proficient and experienced in handling air cargo operations and dangerous goods • Excellent understanding of trade and global sanctions as well as duo use commodities • Data driven with strong analytical and decision-making skills • Good knowledge of global compliance system as well as knowledge of emergency response management • Strong people management and leadership skills
