Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented DPS Resident Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will lead the Data Protection & Back-Up Systems and Optimization. He/she will also take charge of the end to end process of DPS ensuring the availability integrity and recovery of the data.

Key Responsibilities & Role:

Monitor and maintain Data Protection & Backup systems
Perform capacity planning data tiering and Data Protection & Backup optimization tasks.
Assist in data migration archiving and retention activities.
Ensure data availability integrity and backup/recovery processes.
Support incident resolution and escalate complex Data Protection & Backup issues to L3.
Apply security policies and access controls on file and object data.
Document configurations changes and standard procedures.
Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams on data-related needs.
Mentor support staff advise on best practices and drive process improvements.
Participate in TARB committee as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelors Degree in IT/Software Engineering or any similar degree is required.
Solid experience in Data Management.
Background in IT Security is highly desirable.
Familiarity in Data Protection & Back-Up Platforms (Ex: Veeam Commvault NetBackup Rubrik Dell IBM or any similar platform).
Ability to work independently and alongside a team as needed.
Strong English and communication skills.
Key attention to detail.
