KBR is looking for a Specialist Digitalization Engineer PMC project with Gas Processing experience to be based at Abu Dhabi.
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactiveDigitalization Engineerto lead the integration of Operational Technology (OT) systems with Corporate IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enabling secure reliable and scalable data exchange between control systems and enterprise platforms supporting ADNOCs digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Familiar with secure OT/IT interfaces for control systems (DCS SCADA PLCs).
- Ensure seamless data flow from field devices to enterprise systems (e.g. PI System ERP cloud).
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce network segmentation and compliance with standards (e.g. IEC 62443 NIST).
- Support deployment of digital platforms including historians OPC servers MQTT brokers and edge devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve OT/IT communication issues.
- Coordinate with I&C IT cybersecurity and operations teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Manage vendors and system integrators during project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Electronics Instrumentation Automation or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in OT/IT integration preferably in oil & gas or industrial automation.
- Strong understanding of industrial protocols (Modbus OPC UA/DA MQTT PROFINET).
- Experience with control systems (e.g. Honeywell Emerson Siemens ABB).
- Familiarity with IT networking concepts (TCP/IP VLANs firewalls VPNs).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and standards.
Preferred Certifications
- ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Certificate
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP (Industrial or Security)
- Microsoft Azure IoT or AWS IoT certifications
- PMP or equivalent project management certification (optional)
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and collaboration across departments
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
