We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Material Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates. As a Material Engineer you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all materials used in our projects comply with specifications and meet the approval of relevant authorities. This position requires a professional with strong analytical skills and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
- Review and approve contractors proposed materials and methods as delegated by the Resident Engineer
- Prepare comprehensive Material Engineers Daily Diaries to document project progress and material usage
- Oversee contractors daily activities including work assignments and on-site performance
- Conduct factory visits and supplier plant inspections as required
- Manage testing processes and secure approvals from relevant authorities
- Review and approve contractors testing requests and completed reports
- Monitor material delivery performance and accuracy of materials used on-site
- Coordinate with contractors supervisory personnel regarding schedule sequence and work methods
- Perform continuous field inspections of work in progress and consult with both Resident Engineers and contractors supervisory staff
- Prepare written and oral reports for the Resident Engineer on contractual and procedural matters
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards in Abu Dhabi and the UAE
- Travel to various project sites within the UAE as needed
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Materials Engineering Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized university
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in design construction and supervision of water infrastructure projects including pipelines sewerage systems rising mains and pumping stations
- In-depth knowledge of existing infrastructure networks in the UAE particularly in Abu Dhabi
- Extensive experience in conducting quality inspections and implementing ISO 9000 quality systems
- Strong understanding of material compliance and approval processes in the UAE construction industry
- Proficiency in relevant software tools for material analysis and project management
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Strong communication abilities both written and verbal in English
- Proven project management skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Dubai Central Laboratory approval (preferred)
- Flexibility to travel within the UAE for site visits and inspections
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
