The Instrument Engineer is responsible for understanding the Scope of Work (SOW) of a project and carrying-out duties related to the preparation and issuance of engineering deliverables to Lead Instrument Engineer for project implementation. Perform design calculation and analysis. Attend project technical & progress meetings.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare all instrument engineering deliverables such as design basis specifications data sheets instrument indexes I/O schedules logic diagrams cable/JB schedules cable layout instrument installation process/pneumatic hook-up interconnection diagram loop diagram wiring diagram etc.;
- According to the design plan and design task requirements arrange individual job planning collection design data and relevant reference considering practical experience and scientific research comparing and conduct technical scheme/proposal and necessary economic analysis;
- Utilize the relevant standards specifications and design requirements the proper application of basic information and design data selection of the correct method of calculation formulas and computer program so as to prepare the design calculations. Prepare the documents according to company requirements;
- Update documents according to Senior Instrument Engineer or Lead Instrument Engineers comment(s);
- Cooperate with the relevant disciplines; check and response the internal or external design inputs with the lead engineer. Prepare the documents according to the internal or external design inputs. Prepare the internal entrustment data sheet to other relevant discipline(s);
- Prepare the material requisition and coordinate with procurement support;
- Under the leadership of discipline leader deal with the relevant technical issues which in progress of procurement construction commissioning. If necessary participate in equipment procurement construction and engineering design visit on behalf of other work; and maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of Bachelors Degree or higher qualification in any engineering discipline from a reputable college or university;
- Minimum of 8 years proven work experience in petro-chemical/oil and gas industry;
- Experience of engineering work in FEED/EPC projects;
- Conversant with International Standards in instrument and control engineering.
- Must be in good health physically fit & active;
- Must have good analytical skills interpersonal skills and team-working skills;
- Must have well-developed planning and organizing skills;
- Must have excellent computer proficiency (MS Office Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook AutoCAD and other design/engineering software);
- Must have thorough understanding of specific engineering discipline;
- Must have thorough knowledge of interdisciplinary interfaces;
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines and standard accepted practices;
- Must have positive attitude very dynamic highly motivated and hardworking;
- Must be flexible and have ability to work under pressure to meet the demands of projects.
