We are seeking an experienced and ADNOCapproved Lead HSE Engineer to manage Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) aspects during the engineering phase of onshore oil and gas projects. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in HSE engineering a deep understanding of ADNOC standards and a proven ability to lead and implement HSE strategies across largescale projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement HSE plans policies and procedures in compliance with ADNOC standards and international regulations.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams to ensure all engineering activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- Conduct HSE risk assessments hazard identification (HAZID) and hazard and operability studies (HAZOP) during the engineering phase.
- Monitor and report HSE performance metrics ensuring continuous improvement.
- Ensure project compliance with ADNOC HSE regulations codes and guidelines.
- Coordinate with ADNOC representatives regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders to address HSE requirements and concerns.
- Keep abreast of updates to ADNOC standards and global HSE practices integrating them into project workflows.
- Review and approve HSErelated engineering deliverables including HSE studies Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and design risk assessments.
- Provide input on the design of engineering systems to incorporate safety and environmental controls.
- Support process safety evaluations including SIL (Safety Integrity Level) assessments and quantitative risk assessments (QRA).
- Organize HSE training programs and awareness campaigns for project teams and contractors.
- Mentor and develop junior HSE engineers building technical capabilities within the organization.
- Lead incident investigations root cause analyses and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Plan and conduct internal and external HSE audits ensuring adherence to approved standards.
- Provide recommendations for mitigating HSE risks and improving safety systems.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- ADNOC approval as a Lead HSE Engineer is mandatory.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in HSE engineering with a focus on onshore oil and gas projects during the engineering phase.
- Indepth knowledge of ADNOC HSE codes standards and guidelines as well as international HSE frameworks (e.g. OSHA NEBOSH ISO 14001 ISO 45001).
- Experience in HAZID HAZOP SIL QRA and EIA processes.
- Proficiency in safety management tools and software.
