PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the Mechanical BIM Modeler role is to facilitate the efficient design coordination and documentation of mechanical systems for construction projects using Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology. The role ensures that mechanical designs such as HVAC plumbing and firefighting systems are accurately represented in 3D models fostering collaboration reducing errors and streamlining the construction process.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop accurate and detailed 3D BIM models for mechanical systems including HVAC plumbing and firefighting systems using Revit and other relevant software.
- Generate mechanical shop drawings layouts and schematics from the BIM models.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications local codes and international standards.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architects structural and electrical engineers to identify and resolve design clashes and conflicts.
- Conduct clash detection using software like Navisworks and ensure resolution of identified issues.
- Participate in coordination meetings to facilitate the integration of mechanical systems with other disciplines.
- Prepare and maintain accurate AsBuilt BIM models and detailed documentation for project handover.
- Ensure that all deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards.
- Adhere to local authority requirements and international standards such as ASHRAE NFPA and applicable GCC regulations.
- Maintain highquality BIM documentation for approval and compliance.
KEY QUALIFICATION:
- Diploma or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical BIM modeling preferably in the UAE or other GCC countries.
- Proven track record of working with design consulting firms in the Middle East.
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit and Navisworks.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC piping and firefighting.
- Familiarity with local authority standards (e.g. DEWA SEWA ADM) and international codes.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Detailoriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
