Main Responsibilities
The DIrector of Projects leads the Main Business Area for Water & Environment overseeing Business Area Managers responsible for:
- Desalination
- Water Transmission
- Urban Water & Water Treatment
Additionally this role manages Senior/Junior Project Managers and Project Engineers within the Main Business Area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the setup and delivery of projects ensuring alignment with scope quality timelines and budget.
- Represent the Main Business Area and Business Areas to external stakeholders while engaging with internal departments such as:
- Business Development & Sales: Support project acquisition processes until award.
- Head of Engineering: Coordinate provision of engineering expertise and staff assignment.
- Head of Project Management Consultancy (PMC) & Project Services (PS): Access project services support.
- Head of Human Resources: Oversee recruitment administration and staff development.
- Head of Commercial & Finance: Monitor commercial administration and cost control of projects.
- Ensure adherence to tasks and guidelines as defined in company governance including:
- Leadership tasks
- Business development
- Technical quality assurance
- Cultivation of professional competencies
- Organizational and administrative management
- Health safety and environmental protection
Qualifications :
Competency Requirements
- Proven ability to lead and manage effectively in dynamic demanding environments.
- Deep knowledge of the Water Industry and technical expertise in Business Areas.
- Strong project management experience across all project lifecycle phases (appraise to operate) preferably for authority or developerled projects.
- Demonstrated customer focus with excellent problemsolving decisionmaking and conflict resolution skills.
- Commercial acumen and experience in claims management.
- Strong selfmotivation with exceptional coaching and mentoring capabilities to unlock team potential and maximize performance.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across all levels of seniority and in multicultural environments.
- Excellent communication skills and flexibility to meet travel requirements.
Additional Information :
Experience
- 20 years in the Water Industry including 15 years managing projects in a consultancy or engineering preferably in the Middle East (UAE preferred).
Education
- Engineering graduate preferably with PMP certification.
