ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Concept Development:
- Collaborate with architects urban planners landscape architects and other stakeholders to integrate environmental philosophies into the conceptualization and design of development projects.
- Contribute creative ideas and strategies for incorporating green infrastructure sustainable design principles and biodiversity enhancement measures into project concepts and vision statements.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for maximizing environmental benefits and minimizing ecological impacts during the early stages of project development.
2. Master Planning:
- Participate in the development of masterplans and landuse strategies that prioritize environmental sustainability resilience and biodiversity conservation.
- Provide input on site selection land use zoning building placement and infrastructure design to optimize environmental performance and minimize ecological footprint.
- Develop conceptual designs and renderings that illustrate proposed green spaces ecological corridors habitat enhancements and other environmentally sensitive features.
3. Environmental Design:
- Contribute to the development of strategies for integrating environmental aspects into project design.
- Identify green infrastructure solutions to manage environmental aspects such as stormwater mitigation improve air quality and enhance biodiversity.
- Assist in integration of natural systems and ecological processes into the built environment to create resilient and adaptive landscapes that provide multiple benefits to communities and ecosystems.
- Identify opportunities for incorporating native vegetation wildlife habitat features and ecological restoration techniques into project designs to support local ecosystems and enhance biodiversity.
4. Delivery Strategies:
- Contribute to the development of implementation strategies and action plans for integrating environmental priorities into project delivery processes.
- Work with project teams to establish performance targets metrics and monitoring protocols for tracking environmental outcomes and evaluating the success of green infrastructure initiatives.
- Collaborate with consultants and specialists to ensure that environmental ideas and requirements are effectively incorporated into designs master plans and specifications.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Bachelors or masters degree in environmental planning landscape architecture urban ecology or a related field.
810 years of experience in environmental planning green infrastructure design urban ecology or a related field preferably in the context of urban or landscape planning projects.
Strong knowledge of environmental principles sustainable design practices green infrastructure technologies and biodiversity conservation strategies.
Proficiency in GIS software AutoCAD Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design and visualization tools.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and engage with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated creativity innovation and problemsolving skills with a passion for finding holistic and sustainable solutions to complex environmental challenges.
Relevant professional certifications in sustainable design green infrastructure or environmental planning preferred but not required.
Additional Requirements:
