Assistant Systems Administrator


Summary: Our Client; An investment management company is seeking a professional to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient information systems and operations systems in support of core organizational This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments and minimize systems downtime


Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Ensure there is no loss of revenue due to systems downtime

  • Ensure the departments cost is kept within budget

  • Ensure competitive pricing is achieved with all service and product negotiations

Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

  • Provision of network access, connectivity and IT support of all software applications and hardware to all users

  • Responsible for full optimality of all IT equipment

  • In charge of all purchase recommendations, maintenance and upkeep of systems, IP address, software, monitors, laptop, printers, server etc

  • Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance

  • Troubleshoot network operating system, software and hardware

  • Manages relationships with all system vendors

  • Actively source competitive prices for system-related purchases

  • Maintains company website and updates

  • Responsible for all graphics on website, publications and presentation material

  • In-charge of all archive, backup and outlook calendar postings

  • Participate actively in brainstorming and creating solutions to identified problems so as to promptly achieve the company s system objectives and requirements

  • Identify company system weaknesses and strengths and suggest areas of improvement

  • Responsible for disaster recovery plan (DRP) for outage, downtime or disturbance in system activity

  • Must put in place damage control processes and procedures for possible system issues

  • Train staff to maximize the potential of existing technology

  • Manages all equipment requirements for presentations

  • Demonstrate aptitude for continuous learning and innovative thinking

  • Able to work independently and in a team environment

  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate with outside vendors and internal staff

  • Quickly understands the business issues and data challenges of the company

  • Take input from supervisor and appropriately and accurately applies comments/feedback

  • Assist in the development of junior team members by acting as a coach and teacher to ensure they progress in their career

  • Responsible for maintaining professional conduct always and adhering to all companys and regulators policies, processes and directives

  • Responsible for self development using the company and other resources to acquire knowledge for developing relevant job skills and competencies

  • Responsible for dissipating knowledge to developing internal skills and competencies and training other members of the team through formal and informal channels


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Any other duties as assigned by HOD



Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree, Masters degree is an added Either degree in Information Technology/Computer Science

  • 4+ years of relevant Managerial experience recommended

  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software and network administration and installation

  • Management and supervisory skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Disciplined and meticulous worker with great attention to detail

  • Analytical and a problem solver

  • Good decision-making and negotiation skills

  • Team leader and able to work well in a high-paced environment

  • Excellent organizational and time and stress management skills

  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and professionalism
