Job Description

- Greet and escort customers to their tables
- Presentmenu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. aboutportions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
- Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware andglasses
- Inform customers about theday’s specials
- Offer menurecommendations upon request
- Up-selladditional products when appropriate
- Takeaccurate food and drinks orders, using a POS orderingsoftware,order slips or by memorization
- Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meetminimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholicbeverages
- Communicate order details to theKitchen Staff
- Serve food and drinkorders
- Check dishes and kitchenware forcleanliness and presentation and report any problems
- Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy diningarea
- Deliver checks and collect billpayments
- Carry dirty plates, glasses andsilverware to kitchen for cleaning
- Meet withrestaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu andservice specifications for reservations (e.g. parties)
- Follow all relevant health departmentregulations
- Provide excellent customer serviceto guests
