- Assists and participates in the repair and preventive maintenance of electric motors, switches, compressors, transformers, valves, water lines, and related equipment.
- Installs electric wiring, plumbing ducts, pipes, and fixtures; checks and tests meters, relays, and heating and air conditioning equipment.
- Assists electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring and apparatus.
- Assists auto mechanics, painters, carpenters, roofers, plumbers, plasterers, and masons by carrying materials and equipment and performing manual duties, such as mixing mortar, building scaffolds, repairing furniture, and applying asphalt tar on roofs.
- Operates pipe-cutting and threading machines, asphalt kettles, air compressors, drills, shears, welders, and other equipment.
