Sound Recordist specialist

Reporting to the Head of Sound, the Location Sound Recordist will work across a range of factual, documentary, current affairs and lifestyle television programs.He/she will be responsible for recording the highest possible quality of ' as live' sound on various locations for factual, lifestyle, reality, and documentary production.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Recording and capture all of the sound on location.
• Working with presenters, on screen journalist, contributors, experts and voice over artists.
• Recording dialogue, singing, action and real events.
• Setting up microphones in a variety of different locations and complete situations.
• Operating and the placement of hand held and fixed boom microphones, hidden 'personal' or 'radio' microphones.
• Working in small and mid-range production crews.
• Work around any issues with background noise by employing the right mic and positions
• Record a 'wild track' ambient sound as well as dialogue.

OTHER DUTIES

• Working closely with the camera operators to ensure syncs outputs with the camera.
• Working closely with to enhance the creative vision of the director and producer.
• Understand the editorial content of the production and audience.
• Your duties may include reading scripts, interpreting character mannerisms, following director and writer prompts, altering the pitch of your voice, and portraying emotion verbally.
