- Familiarize self thoroughly on about 25 products (toys) and target markets, and set up training for sales representatives so they know the products well, too
- Develop, implement and track sales strategies and goals, with differentiation for markets and mode of sale (online versus in store versus trade show, etc.)
- Create strategies to make sales with new customers and to expand markets while keeping a strict focus on building customer retention rates
- Help sales representatives set individual and team goals, and use frequent praise to drive internal motivation
- Respond to customer complaints and resolve them as quickly and thoroughly as possible
- Collaborate with marketing department to develop and implement inbound and outbound sales techniques, also giving feedback on effectiveness of marketing campaigns
- Use ongoing metrics to identify sales patterns with regard to sales representative, marketing effort, customer, mode of sale and product
- Hire, onboard and train sales representatives, developing a “Best Practices” guidebook within six months of start date
