Research Specialist III Pluripotent Stem Cell

Contributes to the delivery of departmental goals, through personal effort in own work area. May modify existing methods and recommend improvements in processes that impact operations and may positively affect the results of the scientific program. Working under minimal supervision, performs routine and specialized procedures, and associated responsibilities, as dictated by the workload in the rostered area. Solves complex problems and performs a variety of technical assignments within broader projects. May modify practices and techniques in varied situations to perform duties, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results. Assists in procurement of additional/new funding through general support to technical proposal preparation and/or presentations. Oversees the work of junior technical staff to ensure that correct procedures are followed. Provides direction to assure completion of non-routine technical tasks and projects. Recommends SOPs and performs quality control checks. Assists in planning short- and long-term goals with the Supervisor and performs the research to reach established goals. Stays current with literature in ongoing and proposed research projects. Monitors expenses to ensure adherences to budget. Provides training to new members, research fellows and graduate students. Write manuscripts and present novel research and techniques to research group.
