Plant Manager - Engineering

About the Job:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly talented Plant Managerto join the team at Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa, Kuwait.

The main purpose of this role is to beresponsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of the engineering department, deliver strategic and added value Engineering interventions to the business, and ensure that the property and assets are maintained in the highest order.

Your main duties will include:

• Assist the Director of Engineering in POMEC functions.

• Achieve optimal operating efficiency by closely adhering to procedures detailed in the technical maintenance manual.

• Assures implementation of Jumeirah policies, standards and procedures for Fire & Life Safety programs, physical security programs, effective preventive and breakdown maintenance, inspection and staff supervision, POMEC labor standards, and proper appearance and housekeeping of all equipment rooms.

• Establish and operate water treatment programs to ensure water and sewage quality control.

• Operation and maintenance of all Plant equipment; Electrical MV & LC Distribution system, Chiller plant and Central Air Conditioning, Firefighting system, Water storage and distribution system, LPG storage and distribution system, Emergency diesel generators and fuel storage, Elevators, and Drainage system and Sewerage/Storm water lifting stations.

• Participate in periodic inspection of the entire property.

• Monitor present and future trends, systems and practices in hotel technology and recommends justifiable future actions.

• Receive and analyse feedback information from other administration departments for recommending to the Director of Engineering on new policies and procedures for economical operation and maintenance.

• Participate with the Director of Engineering to review and make recommendations on the annual POMEC budgets.

• Review proposed capital expenditure authorization requests pertaining to POMEC prior to submission to the General Manager.

• Attend Engineering departmental meetings, and any other meetings requested by management, during the absence of the Director of Engineering.

• Assist the Director of Engineering with the selection and training of staff.

• Investigate and recommend sources when local purchasing of contract services, equipment, parts and supplies may be required.

• Provide functional assistance and direction to engineering personnel.

• Coordinate with all other departments.

• Coordinate and supervise all contractors.

• Adhere to all EHSMS regulations and job safety analysis to ensure an accident-free work environment.

• Any other reasonable task requested by the management.

About You:

In order to be considered for this role, you will have gained an internationally recognized qualification inMechanical or Electrical Engineering, or Formal qualification in any Engineering discipline , and you should have a minimum of5 years experience in a similar position in a 5 star luxuryHotel environment or related industry.

It is desirable to have Middle East experienceand have knowledge of FLS programs and HVAC systems.It is also essential that you have strong command of the English language, and Arabic is highly desirable.You should be computer literate with good working knowledge of computer applications such a MS Office, PRISMA and HOTSOS.
