RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research/Scholarship Duties: Collaborate with college faculty to contribute to the scientific knowledge base through original research, publications, presentations, and mentorship. Grow an independent program of research and/or develop and maintain a focused, extramurally funded program of research as principal investigator. Serve as a research and academic advisor and mentor to pre and postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty as appropriate.
  • Instructional Duties: Develop and teach undergraduate and/or graduate level nursing courses and supervise (as necessary) graduate teaching assistants serving as course assistants. Incumbent will advise and mentor students. Incumbent will review and update courses with current content and relevant materials, and recommend future development using innovative software and course management materials. Serve or develop as a master teacher in the classroom, laboratory, or field sites.
  • Service Duties: Engage in service activities at the university, college, professional and community levels, including serving on faculty governance committees and special work groups. Provide professional leadership within regional, local, national and international nursing and multidisciplinary groups.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

  • Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full professor.
  • For Associate/Assistant - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.

  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill the expectation of continued growth as a researcher in an area of focus aligned with the mission of the College.
  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill the expectation for contribution to the teaching mission of the College
  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill the expectation of contributions in the area of service commensurate with the College's mission.
  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill the expectation of collegiality and participation as a citizen of the University.
  • Demonstrated history of teaching in graduate and/or undergraduate level courses delivered in an online format and/or in the classroom.
  • Experience in advising/supervising graduate and/or undergraduate students on research and clinical scholarship development.
  • Demonstrated an established/funded program of research
  • Evidence of a focused program of research as demonstrated by extramural grant awards and publications and scientific presentations primarily related to the four scientific pillars of the college: precision science, health determinants science, data system science and/or implementation science.
