Job Description

Responsible for setting up and management of Marina Policies, management regulations, operations, safety, security, training, maintenance, expansion, short & long term planning, Marketing and other administrative/supervisory direction of all activities at the marina and related facilities including selling of services of the Company.

Arabic Speaking Candidates are preferred.

MAIN DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take responsibility for the administrative & financial management of the marina related projects.
  • Develop strategic marketing plan for the sales/lease of marina berths and other marine related business.
  • Develop strategic alliance with international marinas and global authorities to facilitate the marina related business.
  • Book wet berths, build customer relations, coordinate delivery of products and services to customers, ensure environmental requirements are met, and maintain information records and timetable repair work.
  • Responsible for compliance of laws, ordinances, rules and regulation governing the Marina operation.
  • Regularly inspect all marina facilities to ensure facilities and grounds are adequately maintained, safe and ready for use.
  • Compile regular reports on berthing issues and revenues along with recommendations for changes in rate structures.
  • This role will also involve the upgrading of existing facilities, enhancing the range of services offered, dealing with marina personnel, maintaining customer support, staying abreast of emerging technology in the Boating Industry and striving to improve the services, quality and environmental performance of the marina.
  • Manage and develop the business for Marina Services and Yachting school.
  • Involve in the planning of all yacht shows and ensure its successes.
  • Interaction with boaters, partners and government officials.
  • Concise and timely upkeep of project schedules, milestones reports and other project- related materials.
  • Manage/schedule resources to meet plan deliverables
  • Identify, recruit, train and certify Marina Operations Team.
  • Training of marina staff in marine-related activities, security and safety.
  • Assist in cruising activities, short and long passages.
  • Periodic checks of marina equipment and pontoons
  • Undertake any other duties in relation to the job scope as assigned by your superior from time to time.

Knowledge:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position with extensive experience in managing, developing and marketing marina facilities and ability to demonstrate enthusiasm and determination to help the business fulfill its potential. Previous experience of the super yacht industry would be advantageous.
  • A proven track record & suitable academic qualifications including a boat Captain’s licence and the ability to handle vessels within a confined Marina environment.
  • Technical knowledge of vessels.
  • Knowledge in environmental regulations pertaining to marina operations.
  • Excellent people management and communications skills.
  • The position is required to work a varied schedule that may include week-ends and public holidays.

Requirements:

  • Should possess experience running a sizable Marina.
  • Should possess strong analytical and interpersonal qualities, and be able to offer strategic and creative solutions to challenges. Have an excellent visual sense, and meticulous with an eye for detail.
  • Able to multi-task and work within tight deadlines with good organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, resourceful and proactive.
  • Positive at all time and willing to follow the Club’s vision
