- Assign, coordinate, direct and evaluate the work of subordinate supervisors and staff.
- Plan, organize and manage operation and maintenance activities for County buildings and equipment.
- Identify needs and recognize problems of building alteration and repair projects in order to establish work priorities or make appropriate operational changes.
- Evaluate Facilities Management operations and procedures and develop techniques and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Read and interpret complex reports, regulations, standards and laws pertaining to buildings and equipment, public access, fire and safety, environmental concerns, etc.
- Read and interpret plans and blueprints and evaluate working sketches and building construction specifications.
- Accurately estimate equipment, labor and material costs for repair, re modeling, maintenance and construction projects.
- Instruct personnel in work methods and departmental procedures and policies.
- Prepare specifications for building repair, remodeling and maintenance work.
- Prepare standardized reports and maintain accurate records.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
