About The Job

An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Manager (Plant Engineer) role to join the Engineering Team at Jumeirah Gulf of Bahrain Resort & Spa Family. The main purpose of this position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of the engineering functions under his control.

Duties And Responsibilities Of This Role

• Supervises and directs the daily activities of all Engineering Department Supervisors and Subordinates.
• Observes activities to ensure adherence to policies and operating procedures.
• Check on completed repair and maintenance works to ensure that established standards have been met.
• Assists in the implementation, coordination and monitoring of the JEMS (Jumeirah Engineering Management System .This will include the Fire, Life and Safety Matrix, PPM, Work Order Systems, etc.).
• Handles grievances, suggestions and complaints by colleagues and recommends appropriate action to the Resident Engineer / Director of Engineering.
• Submits a comprehensive monthly report to the Resident Engineer / Director of Engineering on activities carried out for the month (if required).
• Request support and direction as needed.
• Ensures effective operation of all mechanical and electrical systems and equipment by implementing and managing a preventive maintenance program. Closely monitors the condition of the physical property and equipment by conducting regular inspections of the building.
• Ensures that preventive maintenance schedules are in operation and regularly upgraded whenever possible.
• Follow – up on all operational breakdowns, required materials etc. and to ensure fixing all the issues related to the breakdowns.
• Deal and coordinate with external service providers and external contractors (labours etc.) onsite to ensure the upkeep of the system is up to the standards.
  

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical or HVAC or control systems and Mechanical or Electrical Diploma or Equivalent
• At least 2 years formal training
• A minimum of 5 years in a 5-star hotel environment
• Knowledge of Building Management System (BMS)
