Job Description:

United Health System is seeking a highly qualified Licensed Practical Nurse to join our dynamic team in Petoskey MI. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) you can positively impact the lives and overall health of the residents that you care for through providing direct nursing care to residents and supervising the daytoday nursing activities performed by the Nursing Assistants. This care is in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act; current federal state and local standards. Our Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) ensure quality care is maintained at all times.

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Unit Manager / ADON/ DON the RN assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of residents/patients for a shift of duty. Nursing care is provided through assessment implementations and evaluation of the plan of care. The RN adheres to the standards of care for the area manages the environment to maintain resident/patient safety and supervises the resident/patient care activity performance by nursing assistants and helpers. Follows all Villas policies and procedures. Performs duties as defined by the State Nurse Practice Act. Follows where applicable JCAHO standards.

Qualifications:

• Provide direct patient care by performing basic nursing tasks including taking vital signs administering medications changing dressings assisting with personal hygiene and monitoring patients conditions
• Collaborate closely with other members of the interdisciplinary team including doctors registered nurses physical therapists social workers and dietitians
• Communicate effectively with patients families and colleagues regarding treatment plans progress updates and any concerns
• Maintain accurate records and documentation according to established policies and procedures
• Participate in ongoing education and training programs to stay current with best practices and industry standards
• Assist with maintaining a safe and clean work environment following infection control protocols and adhering to safety guidelines
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management
