- Managing budgets and time frames to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
- Preparing proposals and managing bids to help ensure that projects are profitable, while also keeping costs within budget guidelines
- Managing a team of designers, architects, engineers, construction workers, and others involved in the actual construction process
- Estimating materials costs, labor costs, equipment costs, and other expenses related to the project
